A 26-year-old woman in Colorado Springs has been accused of stealing the identities of more than 100 people. It seems she was operating an “identity theft laboratory,” according to police.
A stolen check that was altered and cashed led the authorities to two suspects: James McHenry, 35, and Kali Watson, 26. McHenry was recently sentenced to four years in prison in an unrelated identity theft and forgery case. When Watson was arrested the same day on an outstanding warrant (for forgery and narcotics), police got a search warrant for her home and found illegal narcotics and an ID theft lab.
The Gazette covered the story. According to their piece, “Watson remains in jail without bond on her previously alleged offence, jail records show. Neither she or McHenry have been charged related to the new discovery.”
